<br />Commission Minutes--July 19, 2004 <br /> <br />2758 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to authorize the vice chair <br />to sign a purchase order for the Information Technology Department in <br />the amount of $9,056 for a large format color plotter, with a net price of <br />$6,556 after the rebate. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to authorize the vice chair to <br />sign a purchase order for the Information Technology Department in the <br />amount of $25,194 for a network data storage enclosure. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />12. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Airborne Custom Sprayina, Inc. <br />A revised contract was received from the Cass County Highway Department with Airborne <br />Custom Spraying, Inc. for mosquito spraying in Cass County. The revisions included <br />changing the name of the contractor from Dean Solum-Airborne Custom Spraying to <br />Airborne Custom Spraying, Inc.; changing the term of the agreement to begin June 25th <br />instead of May 23rd; any references to giving or receiving notice are to be in writing; and the <br />City of Moorhead was omitted from Attachment I so the agreement pertains only to Cass <br />County jurisdictions. <br /> <br />Mr. Burdick said it appears the Certificate of Insurance, which was attached to the proposed <br />contract, is not sufficient to cover the mandates of the contract. He approved the contract <br />as to form and suggested further review of the insurance amount. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to approve revisions to the <br />contract with Airborne Custom Spraying, Inc. as submitted by the <br />respective department head and signed by the contractor, subject to <br />state's attorney approval, and authorize the vice chairman to sign. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />13. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />189,106 through No. 189,526. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />14. BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS UPDATE; JAIL LAWSUIT; NACO CONVENTION, <br />Committee reports <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, updated the board on buildings and grounds projects <br />and said she is working on the 2005 budget request for her departments. <br /> <br />Mr. Burdick said a judicial ruling was made in the Strand, et al vs. Cass County lawsuit <br />indicating the plaintiff, Mr. Strand, would be allowed to amend his lawsuit to add new claims. <br />Mr. Burdick said he forwarded the "Order Granting Motion to Amend" to the North Dakota <br />Insurance Reserve Fund for their consideration. <br /> <br />Upon their return, Mr. Wagner said he and Mrs. Sorum will update the board on the National <br />Association of Counties Conference, which they are attending. <br />
