needs, juvenile services, and a host of others. We believe that our mission compliments
each of these and does not duplicate services. We fill the unique niche of providing
general parenting education to the general public (parents and adults who work with
kids.) We also provide information regarding other area resources and maintain a file of
agencies and support groups to offer people options when they are searching for help
and/or specific information. Many people are comfortable contacting the Parenting
Resources Center because of it's affiliation with the Extension Service. The NDSU
Extension Service has the reputation of giving out practical and research based
information on a variety of subjects to the general public. Many parents perceive there is
little or no stigma attached to contacting the Parenting Resources Center for information
and education compared to more specialized agencies. The PRC can provide available
information and refer parents to other sources if their need is beyond the PRC expertise.

D.

Project Activities and Outcomes/Results Measurement
** Preference will be given to organizations and proposals that demonstrate a
commitment to ongoing performance measurement.

See Appendix A and utilize the sample format if it meets your needs.

1.

Briefly describe the major project activities that will be completed to achieve the
project goal(s) and data that will show that the activities were completed
(brochures, curriculum, sign-in sheets, receipts, payroll records, etc.).

Please see attached form relating to activities and outcomes/results measurement.

2.

Specifically, how will you measure the project's outcomes/results? (How will you
know the health of the target population improved as a result of your project?)

The Parenting Resources Center offers classes on an ongoing basis and provides
evaluations.

We do extensive work with collaborators and have open communication with each of
them on an ongoing basis. This allows us to continually have feedback and receive
information from a variety of sources and audiences. .

We ask class participants to identify and list what they plan to do with the information
they receive. This solidifies the learning process and provides a realistic plan of
action applicable to an individual's unique situation. This way of learning also
empowers the class participants to utilize the knowledge given and have confidence
that the parenting information received is research based and worthy of being
applied.
