The parenting Resources Center, it's mission and classes address all five CSCC goals
either directly or indirectly.

Goal 1 :That all children are cared for and nurtured.

Educating parents on the developmental stages children will experience, their role in
discipline, role modeling, structuring time and numerous other topics parents will
encounter on their parenting journey is at the heart of the Parenting Resources Center.
The PRC provides information to a variety of family structures including traditional two
parent families, single parent families, blended families, grandparents raising
grandchildren, and parents of all income and social levels. Foster parents also seek
information from the Parenting Resources Center to enhance their abilities to handle
children from dysfunctional families in the best way possible.

Goal 2: That all children are safe physically and emotionally.

Parents who understand developmental stages, children's abilities, their own strengths
and weaknesses as parents and identify sources of help and support are likely to be
healthy parents in all ways including physically and emotionally. We provide information
at all displays and classes on where to search for help, what to do when overwhelmed
and signs of stress and angry behavior.

Goal 3: *That all children have a healthy start and a healthy future.
The Parenting Resources Center looks at health in a holistic way. Parents who have
knowledge and resources regarding their parental role provide the best environment
possible for children in all areas of life. Implementing these skills and basic support and
bonding systems at an early age sets the stage for a healthy future for children and the
family unit.

Goal 4: *That all children have effective education.
The Parenting Resources Center offers supportive information promoting the role
of a parent in a child's learning process. Topics are offered, often in conjunction with
schools or child care centers, promoting parents' involvement in a child's readiness for
kindergarten, providing information on learning styles and benefits of reading, offering
suggestions to those juggling school and work schedules, communicating about tough
issues, maintaining resources related to a number of disabilities, and exploring with
parents the best environments for a child to learn. The Parenting Resources Center
provides connections for parents who come together because of a common interest or
need and PRC Parent Educators encourage parents to share concerns and ideas.
Many parents report that the combination of information and support makes a significant
difference in their stress level and ability to handle difficult situations.

Goal 5 *That all children shall contribute to community through service and
positive behavior.

The Parenting Resources Center promotes the idea of parental role modeling, effective
discipline, good choices and many other core values that mold children into committed
and healthy adults. Many of our curriculums, such as Guiding Good Choices, promote
these ideals. The PRC uses Brown Bag Bytes to offer quality education on practical
matters such as children accepting responsibility in the class Pick Up Your Socks. The
PRC adheres to the belief that healthy and effective parenting done today will
