Commission Minutes-June 1, 2009 3518 <br />Mrs. Sorum presented the resolution of commendation to Mrs. Dahlseng. Mrs. <br />Dahlseng thanked the board and said she has enjoyed working with the county <br />for the last 24 years as the county's health insurance consultant. <br />b. Amend Personnel Policy 4.20 Recruiting, Screening and Hiring to <br />include information on the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act <br />of 2008 (G I NA). <br />c. Receive and file Indemnity Bond on Lost Instrument for Robert K. and <br />Mary Jane Carlson; and authorize the county auditor and county <br />treasurer to issue a duplicate check. <br />d. Approve raffle permit for the Cass County Historical Society to be held <br />December 7, 2009, at Bonanzaville, U.S.A. in West Fargo, North <br />Dakota. <br />e. Contract approval <br />- Rural cities, subdivisions and organizations-2009 mosquito <br />control agreements; <br />- Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA~extend <br />operational period of agreement to use space at the Cass County <br />Annex from May 13, 2009, through June 6, 2009; <br />- Houston Engineering-design engineering services contract for a <br />project on Rush River northwest of Amenia; <br />- Central Specialties, Inc.-bituminous paving projects on Cass <br />County Highways 5, 10, and 26; <br />- Ellington Properties, LLC-memorandum of understanding for <br />developer Dan Norwood, outlining responsibility for completion of <br />required improvements in Ellington Subdivision. <br />f. Move to grant final plat approval to Ellington Subdivision in Section 35, <br />Township 138N, Range 49W in Cass County, North Dakota. <br />6. COMMUNITY MILITARY COVENANT, Sianin4 ceremony <br />Cass County Government received an invitation from the North Dakota Association of <br />Counties and the North Dakota League of Cities to host a signing ceremony for a <br />Community Military Covenant. Governor John Hoeven signed the state's first covenant on <br />April 24, 2009, which acknowledges support of veterans, service members and their <br />families. <br />The following were present for the signing ceremony: Senior Airman Matthew Fabela, U.S. <br />Air Force Recruiter; Staff Sergeant Jamie Schaeffer, U.S. Army Recruiter; Staff Sergeant <br />Jeffery Kast, U.S. Marine Corps Recruiter; Aviation Structural Mechanic 2"d Class Jesse <br />Foelk, U.S. Navy Recruiter; Colonel Kent Olson and Major Greg McDonald, North Dakota <br />Air Guard; Terry Richardson, President, Fargo Moorhead United Patriotic Bodies; Trever <br />Thompson and Amy Gunkelman, Program Assistants for the Department of Veterans <br />Affairs; Major Tim Nutter, U.S. Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) Command; E. <br />John Carlson, Employer Outreach Director, Employer Support of Guard and Reserve; and <br />Veteran's Service Representatives Michael Vandrovec and Chanelle Lende, Cass County <br />Veteran's Service Office. <br />Mrs. Sorum thanked everyone for attending the ceremony today. A copy of the covenant <br />and a group picture will be sent to the North Dakota League of Cities. <br />
