<br />Commission Minutes-January 20,2009 3465 <br /> <br />j. Adopt a resolution of condolence for the family of Beth Fischer as <br />follows: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE <br />#2009-2 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Cass County Commissioners has learned of the death of <br />Beth Fischer, Fargo, North Dakota, on January 15, 2009; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Beth Fischer worked for the Cass County Veteran's Service Office for 32% <br />years, retiring in June, 2002; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Beth Fischer dedicated herself in her work with area veterans during her <br />employment with Cass County; <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Board of Commissioners of Cass County, <br />North Dakota, does hereby express its heartfelt condolences to the family of Beth <br />Fischer; <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That this resolution will be inscribed upon the permanent <br />records of the proceedings of the Board of County Commissioners and a copy <br />forwarded to her family. <br /> <br />Dated at Fargo, North Dakota, this 20th day of January, 2009. <br /> <br />k. Approve additional carry over of the annual leave balance for Social <br />Services employee Jan Iverson, based on the exception allowed in the <br />Cass County Policy Manual, Section 6.00. <br /> <br />6. PERSONNEL POLICY, Adopt amended inclement weather/emeraency closina policy <br />County Administrator Bonnie Johnson said at the last Personnel Overview Committee <br />meeting two weeks ago, discussion was held on the policy regarding inclement weather. <br />The committee directed personnel staff to research options using the current policy. She <br />emailed the amended document to commissioners and department heads for comments. <br />The Personnel Overview Committee met earlier today and approved the amended policy. <br />She believes the revisions outline for employees what happens on a storm day or <br />emergency closing. If approved by the board, the policy shall become effective <br />immediately. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to ratify the action of the <br />Personnel Overview Committee meeting held January 20, 2009, and <br />amend Personnel Policy 7.60, Inclement Weather/Emergency Closings. <br />This policy shall become effective immediately. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />7. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Transportation Enhancement Fund Stimulus proiects <br />County Engineer Keith Berndt said he received information last Friday regarding additional <br />Transportation Enhancement (TE) funding as part of the potential Federal Economic <br />Stimulus Funding. The North Dakota Department of Transportation initially asked for a list <br />of potential projects by today, but has extended the deadline until Thursday, January 22nd. <br />Since this is part of the stimulus package, any TE money received would be 100% federally <br />
