Deputies are required to maintain their training in all weapons issued <br />by the Sheriff s Department. If state certification is a requirement, that <br />shall also be maintained. <br /> <br />6. A score of 70 percent or higher must be fired, on a state approved <br />course of fire in order to maintain, and to carry on duty, duty issued <br />firearms. <br /> <br />7. Range instructors shall monitor and access deputies' abilities and <br />proficiencies with duty issued firearms. <br /> <br />8. Deputies who are unable to maintain a 70 percent or higher score may <br />be referred to re-medial range training. <br /> <br />9. Deputies who consistently fire under 70 percent, exhibit unsafe <br />practices, or fail to follow range officer's instructions, shall be referred <br />to the Sheriff for disciplinary action <br /> <br />10. Deputies shall report all training earned to the training officer as soon <br />as practical. <br /> <br />11. No deputy shall carry any weapon unless he has completed training in <br />the use of the weapon and demonstrated proficiency in its use.
