<br />POSITION ANALYSIS QUESTIONNAIRE <br />PAGE 2. <br /> <br />% of Time <br />Required or <br /># of Hours <br />Per Week <br /> <br />30% <br /> <br />Activity <br /> <br />Assist the Correctional Service's Group Commander with recruiting, <br />interviewing and hiring of detention staff as needed; ensuring that <br />all staff are properly trained. <br /> <br />Must review and evaluate all documentation involving detention <br />activities and ensure that all reports are forwarded to the proper <br />person or agency. <br /> <br />Reviews and updates detention policies and procedures ensuring that <br />the center operates in compliance with appropriate federal, state <br />and local laws and regulations. <br /> <br />Submit monthly and annual statistical reports, <br />reimbursement requests and other reports as directed. <br /> <br />Administrative Responsibilites <br /> <br />Daily accountable for all equipment and supplies assigned to the <br />Detention Center. <br /> <br />Prepare annual Division budget for submission to the Jail <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />Requisition materials as required and operates the Detention Center <br />within the approved budget. <br /> <br />Regularly inspects the Detention Center to ensure that it operates <br />in a safe and secure manner, reporting any deficiency to the Jail <br />Administrator when necessary. <br /> <br />Regularly reviews the performance and activities of Detention <br />personnel. <br /> <br />Receive most sensitive personnel and public relation's matter for <br />resolution as required and refer critical issues to the Jail <br />Administrator as appropriate. <br /> <br />Performing public informational talks and providing assistance on <br />juvenile detentioin related topics. <br /> <br />30% Custodial <br /> <br />Performs tasks and duties of a juvenile officer when necessary. <br />Process and accept juvenile offenders into detention <br />Provides for the care, custody and safety of juveniles in the <br />custody of the sheriff <br />Conduct recreation, visitation, church and group activities in <br />an effective manner and in accordance with policy. <br />Ensure that all juveniles are provided with prompt and adequate <br />medical care as written in policy <br />Ensure juveniles are released in a legal manner as described in <br />policy. <br />
