This position shall hold the <br />title of Sergeant. This position is responsible to the Jail <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />LIST ACTIVITIES IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE AND ESTIMATE AMOUNT OF TIME SPENT IN EACH <br />AREA. <br /> <br />% of Time <br />Required or <br /># of Hours <br />Per Week <br /> <br />Activity <br /> <br />40% <br /> <br />SUPERVISES PERSONNEL AND OPERAIONS OF JUVNILE DETENTION. <br /> <br />Supervise the Juvenile Detention Center; ensuring that all <br />juveniles are held under legitimate and proper authority. <br /> <br />Schedule detention staff and work activities on an ongoing basis <br />ensuring that all shifts are adequately covered with trained staff. <br /> <br />Regularly communicates with Jail Administrator keeping him informed <br />of all incidents or concerns pertaining to the Detention Center. <br /> <br />Regularly meets and communicates with detention staff through <br />written memos, individual counseling and scheduled staff meetings. <br /> <br />Act as a liaison between detention staff and residents or parents; <br />addressing and resolving problems or concerns as necessary. <br /> <br />Work closely with the appropriate court personnel and other <br />agencies involved with the residents and addresses or resolves any <br />conflicts as they arise. <br />
