Currently there is no safe way for students to get from the west side of Harwood to the east side
without getting a ride in a automotive vehicle. Development in Harwood is on both sides of Interstate 29 and there
currently exists only an overpass bridge designed for vehicle traffic. Additionally, there is no path leading up to the
bridge, only highway shoulders.
b: please see attached document addressing the "5 E's"
c: Currently children do not walk to school if they live on the west side of Interstate 29.
d: This project creates a protected crossing over the busy interstate highway overpass bridge and a separated path
away from Cass County Highway 22.
e: The City of Harwood is committed to this project and has demonstrated its support through the promise of a $50,000
investment into the project.

Please see the attached maps, photographs, and Study for further illustration.
