use of such facility by COUNTY and shall not interfere or hinder <br />COUNTY'S ability to house other inmates. <br /> <br /> 3. CITY agrees to pay to COUNTY, the sum of sixty Dollars <br />($60.00) per day for each prisoner detained in the County Jail, and <br />an initial booking fee of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per prisoner. These <br />rates shall apply regardless of whether the prisoner is a pre-trial <br />detainee or sentenced prisoner from Municipal Court or sentenced <br />prisoner resulting from a transfer case from Municipal Court to <br />District Court. The daily rate shall apply to any part of any one <br />24 hour period (midnight to midnight). <br /> <br /> 4. In addition to the per diem rate as set forth in <br />paragraph three above, CITY agrees to reimburse COUNTY for expenses <br />incurred by COUNTY for necessary medical or dental care or <br />treatment of CITY prisoners. Necessary medical treatment shall <br />include emergency care and life threatening situations or such <br />treatment or medications as may be required in order to maintain <br />the health or well being of the prisoner while incarcerated, <br />including but not limited to, emergency room care, hospitalization, <br />prescriptions, surgery, or ambulance service. Necessary medical <br />treatment shall not include elective medical or dental care which <br />would normally be provided by the prisoner. Routine medical care <br />such as sick call, self care and emergency assistance by persons <br />trained in first aid procedures only shall be provided by COUNTY as <br />part of the basic daily rate.
