<br />The Parent Resource Center differs from other agencies by providing research-based <br />parenting education and parenting for prevention programs, ensuring awareness of critical issues <br />in parenting, and providing parenting resources (videos, books, bulletins, etc.) to families by <br />collaborating with other agencies and organizations. The Parenting Resources Center is <br />committed to the success of parent education and will continue to work on improving services to <br />the Cass County area. <br /> <br />5. Number of board members, fulltime paid staff, part-time staff, and volunteers <br />The Parenting Resources Center is part of the Cass County Extension office ofNDSU <br />Extension Service. The Cass County Extension office is one of 52 field offices of the NDSU <br />Extension Service. The Extension Service is the outreach division of the North Dakota State <br />University. The county office has a staff of 10 agents who carry out educational programming in <br />other subject areas of agriculture, horticulture, youth development, food & nutrition and <br />community development. The program is guided by a group of20 citizens who serve in an <br />advisory capacity to the County Extension program. Currently the Parenting Resources Center <br />has one full-time paid staff member and 6-8 hourly contracted facilitators. <br /> <br />6. Describe facilities use for delivery of services. List all other addresses where you will <br />provide services. <br />The Cass County Extension Office is located at the Cass County Government Annex at <br />1010 2nd Avenue South in Fargo. We currently deliver parent education classes at the following <br />sites: <br /> <br />Cass County Jail <br />Centre, Inc. <br />North Dakota Job Services <br />YWCA <br />Sister's Path <br />SENDCAA Head Start! Early Head Start <br />Fargo & West Fargo Public Schools <br />Northern Cass Public Schools <br />West Fargo Library <br /> <br />B. PURPOSE OF GRANT <br />2. Situation - opportunity, problem, issue, need and the community that your proposal <br />addresses. Are there services currently available that are similar to those proposed? <br />We are currently providing classes for groups in several agencies in Cass County that <br />serve limited resource, hard to reach audiences. We would like to extend that service and <br />provide research based information at these agencies/organizations for clients on a more <br />continual basis. That information would include: <br />. Displays <br />. Extension bulletins <br />. Quick Tips <br />. Newsletters on specific topics <br /> <br />We are proposing to provide professionals a resource binder with information for their <br />use with clients.
