<br />Commiggion Minutgg-Augu!;t 15, 2005 3111 <br /> <br />4. FARGO CASS PUBLIC HEALTH <br />Mary Kay Hermann, Director of Fargo Cass Public Health, Myron Berglund, Ruth <br />Bachmeier and Glenn Ellingsberg, Cass County Jail Administrator, were present. The <br />budget request for Fargo Cass Public Health increased by 4.3% compared to 2006. <br />Ms. Hermann said the increase is due to cost of living adjustments, step increases <br />and health insurance rate increases. <br /> <br />Ms. Hermann and Mr. Ellingsberg explained the 8.6% increase in the jail portion of the <br />budget. They explained when the new pod opens, the hours of three LPN's will be <br />increased from 20 to 24 hours per week. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the 2007 <br />preliminary budget for Fargo Cass Public Health in the amount of <br />$515,553. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the 2007 <br />preliminary budget for Cass County Jail Health in the amount of $277,763. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />5. JAIL, Staffin~, AED <br />Mr. Vanyo asked to revisit the issue regarding additional jail staff. He stated that five <br />of the correctional officers will be hired to work in the new pod and will not begin work <br />until July. Therefore, adding four positions in the 2007 budget would be acceptable. <br />Mr. Ellingsberg stated since the fifth position would act as relief for vacation and leave <br />it could be postponed until the 2008 budgeting process. Furthermore, Mr. Ellingsberg <br />agreed to wait with the third B21 correctional officer to work in the sigma pod until the <br />2008 budgeting process. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to reduce the correctional <br />officer positions for the 2007 preliminary Jail budget from five to four, <br />reducing the budget by $22,521. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to remove one of the three <br />B21 correctional officer positions to work in the sigma pod, reducing the <br />2007 preliminary Jail budget by $44,981. Discussion: Mr. Vanyo reported <br />that two correctional officers for the sigma pod will be added in 2007 and <br />the third position could be added to the 2008 budget. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Moved by Mr. Vanyo and seconded by Mrs. Sorum to remove $1,500 for <br />an AED from the preliminary 2007 Jail budget. Discussion: Mrs. Johnson <br />said that funds may be available through Fargo Cass Public Health for the <br />AED. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />MOTION, passed <br />
