Commission Minutes-August 10, 2006 3093 MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the 2007 preliminary budget for the Document Preservation Fund in the amount of $65,560. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. The NDRIN (North Dakota Recorders Information Network) revenue funds are generated from a portion of the document preservation fees that member counties pay and from charges for services to clients who access their web site. Members of the NDRIN board are the county recorders from each of the member counties, and this group elects an executive board to oversee the operation of the electronic central repository and approves an annual budget. Mr. Montplaisir said Cass County was the sponsor for a FEMA grant that facilitated the microfilming of county recorder's records across the state and development of the central repository in Fargo. MOTION, passed Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the 2007 preliminary budget for the NDRIN Fund in the amount of $362,000. Discussion: Mr. Pawluk asked if Cass County is reimbursed from member counties as the host of the network. Mr. Montplaisir said currently the county is not reimbursed, but he will look into the possibility. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 4. AUDITOR, TREASURER, RECORDER, TAX DIRECTOR Mr. Montplaisir said his budget for 2007 remains relatively unchanged with increases for salaries, benefits and computer equipment replacements. He said $275,000 is included to replace the current tax system. He said this project has been studied over the last few years and will take some time to complete. Since there are no elections in 2007, only $31,000 is budgeted for equipment and software maintenance and for rent at the storage facility. Mr. Montplaisir said the County Treasurer, County Recorder and Tax Director budgets also remain relatively unchanged. The only increases are for salaries, benefits and computer equipment replacements. MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the 2007 preliminary budgets for the County Auditor, County Treasurer, County Recorder and Tax Director as outlined in the budget information provided to the board. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 5. VETERAN'S SERVICE OFFICE Jim Brent, Veteran's Service Officer, said no significant changes were made to his budget compared with last year. The only increases are for salaries, benefits, telephone equipment and computer equipment. MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the 2007 preliminary budget for Veteran's Service in the amount of $201,035. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. The board took a break at 9:35 AM and reconvened at 10:05 AM with all members present.
