<br />Commission Minutes-July 17, 2006 3086 <br /> <br />accounted for and there were some size miscalculations. Since the taxpayers did not <br />appeal to the local equalization board, corrections to neighboring property assessments for <br />2006 were not possible. The local assessor, the property owners and Mr. Klein have <br />agreed to lower the value to $193,000. The local assessor will review and make any <br />necessary adjustments to property values for 2007. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Wagner seconded that the assessment on <br />4528 3th Avenue North, Reile's Acres, be reduced to $193,000, as <br />recommended by the Director of Equalization and the Reile's Acres City <br />Assessor. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Klein reviewed the assessment on the Security Self-Storage property located at 3825 <br />34th Avenue South in Fargo. He sent his recommendation to the property owner and said <br />the city considered the surrounding property assessments and felt the value placed on this <br />property is fair and equitable. Mr. Bennett asked for any comments from the audience and <br />hearing none, called for the vote. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded that the assessment of <br />$1,829,000 on 3825 34th Avenue South, Fargo, be affirmed, as <br />recommended by the City of Fargo Assessment Office and the Director <br />of Equalization. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Klein reviewed the assessment on the Security Self-Storage property located at 402 25th <br />Street North in Fargo. He sent his recommendation to the property owner and he feels the <br />assessment is not excessive based on cost of replacement. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo that the assessment of $1,376,200 on <br />402 25t1i Street North, Fargo, be affirmed, as recommended by the City of <br />Fargo Assessment Office and the Director of Equalization. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Bennett asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to discuss their <br />individual property assessment, and no one addressed the board at this time. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to adjourn the County <br />Board of Tax Equalization for 2006. Motion carried. <br /> <br />10. SALARY PROPOSAL FOR BUDGET PURPOSES, Department head recommendation <br />Kathy Hogan, Social Services Director, is the chairperson for the department head group <br />and was present to provide information on the cost of living adjustment (COLA) approved at <br />the last department meeting. She said their recommendation of 3.5% is based on the <br />Midwest region and is the same figure that has been used for the last five or six years. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to authorize the use of a <br />3.5% salary scale adjustment for budget development purposes only. On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
