Uppn receiving a request to claim an animal by an owner, Valley <br />will display any animal that resembles the lost/missing ~n;m~1 as described by the <br />owner. Pound staff will display animals for identification from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 <br />p.m, and from 1:00 P.M, to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. <br /> <br />C. A representative of the Humane Society anr;l Adopt-A-Pet shall be <br />permitted to view impounded ~niTTl~ls for possible adoption and may request that <br />an ~n;m~J be held for them if not claimed.. All ~n;m~l. claimed by the Humane <br />Society of Adopt-A-Pet shall be vaccinated for rabies if they are of appropriate <br />age prior to being released with such costs to be paid to Valley by the Humane <br />Society or Adopt-A-Pet. <br /> <br />D. Any animal which is not claimed after expiration of the 3-d.ay <br />holding period may be surrendered to the Humane Society and Adopt-A-Pet. <br /> <br />E. Any ~n;m~1 placed with.the Humane Society or Adopt-a-pet can be <br />returned to the pound within thirty (30) days for euthanasia at Valley's expense. <br /> <br />F. Valley will inform any person who wishes to claim an animal as to <br />all :fines, boarding charges, licensing fees, vaccination charges, or other costs that <br />must be paid prior to claiming the animal. <br /> <br />. G, Valley will collect all monies owed and issue the appropriate City <br />license if necessary. Fees for licenses shall be remitted to the City. <br /> <br />H. Valley shall have authority to waive ,charges for costs of rabies <br />vaccination and other veterinarian services, but shall not have authority to waive <br />the fees for issuance of City licenses. <br /> <br />1. Upon expiration of the holding period, Valley will enth~ni7.e and <br />properly dispose. of all animals not claimed by the owner, the Humane Society or <br />by Adopt-A-PeL <br /> <br />1. If an owner is unable to bail an animal out of the pound before <br />expiration of the holding time, the animal may be held for an extra day provided <br />the owner pays the boarding fee in advance. Unless such payment is made in <br />advance, no animal is held l?eyond expiration of the holding time. <br /> <br />K. If an animal is turned into a pound 'by a finder and is not claimed <br />by its owner, the :finder has the right to claim the animal from the pound when the <br />holding period hils expired. There is no charge to the :finder for claiming the <br />~n;m~l, unless the H;,;m~l is more than four (4) months of age, If the HnimHI is <br />more than four (4) months old, the finder will be charged for rabies vaccination <br />and city license, Only the :finder has first priority for the an;m~ 1 ahead of any <br />other adoption agency.
