<br />Commission Minutes--November 1, 1999 2056 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded that abatement <br />#4133 for Lynne Huseby be approved for a $2,700 reduction in true <br />and full value for 1999, due to storm damage. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded that abatement <br />#4134 for Thomas & Denise Eide be approved as recommended by the <br />City of Briarwood and the Director of Equalization. On roll call vote, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Budget adiustment for purchase of snowmobile for patrol <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize budget <br />adjustments to reflect the expenditure of $3,984.80 from 101-3501- <br />421.82-01 and $996.20 from 221-350-742.82-01 and additional income <br />of $3,984.80 to 101-3501-331.55-05, according to a letter from the <br />Sheriff's Department dated October 25, 1999. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />7. CONTRACT APPROVAL, North Dakota Department of TransDortation Traffic Safety <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the <br />chairperson to sign the North Dakota Department of Transportation <br />Traffic Safety Contract for fiscal year 2000, subject to state's attorney <br />approval; and to approve the necessary $5,200.00 budget adjustment <br />to the appropriate expenditure and revenue accounts. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8. TAX-FORFEITED PROPERTY, Hearing on appraisal <br />This was the date and time advertised for a hearing on the appraisal of tax-forfeited property. <br />The sale of tax-forfeited property will be held November 16, 1999, beginning at 10:00 AM in the <br />County Auditor's Office. Mrs. Quick opened the public hearing and invited comments from <br />anyone wishing to address the board on the notice sent to respective townships and cities. No <br />one asked to comment on this item. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to close the public <br />hearing on appraisal of tax-forfeited property. Motion carried. <br /> <br />9. ROAD DEPARTMENT, County Highway 81 bridge replacement <br />Keith Berndt, County Engineer, requested Board approval of a Memorandum of Agreement <br />between the Federal Highway Administration, the North Dakota State Historical Preservation <br />Officer, and Cass County Government concerning the County Highway 81 bridge replacement <br />project. He also requested approval of a contract in the amount of $5,900 with Cultural <br />Resource Historians to prepare a report in accordance with the provisions of the National <br />Historic Preservation Act because a cultural resources inventory determined this bridge is <br />significant and is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. <br />
