Commission Minutes-June 1, 1998 1817 Mrs. Schneider asked for any additional comments orquestions on the equalization of townships. Hearing none, the board proceeded. MOTION, passed Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded that the township residential lot and structure values be increased in the amounts listed below as recommended by Mr. Klein: On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. On the Borgen property, he said Mr. Borgen did not have an opportunity to attend the township equalization meeting, however, he has discussed the valuation with the local assessor and agreed that the valuation of $8,000 is appropriate. Mr. Borgen was not present at this time. MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the Borgen residential lot and structure value be set at $8,000, as recommended by the Wiser Township Assessor and the Director of Equalization. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. A letter was received from William P. Schmitt dated May 27, 1998, regarding the real estate assessment on his residence located in Forest River Subdivision, Stanley Township. Mr. Klein said the minutes of the Stanley Township Board of Equalization meeting do not indicate that Mr. Schmitt attended the local equalization meeting, and his letter does not include any information showing the assessment is incorrect. The local assessor, Deena Hopson, has attempted to contact the property owner, however, she has been unsuccessful in her attempt to inspect the interior of the property, according to Mr. Klein. He suggested that Mr. Schmitt be advised to contact Ms. Hopson to set up an appointment to have the property inspected if he feels the
