10. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--November 3, 1997 1737 <br /> <br />ABATEMENT APPLICATIONS, Approved for Frank Pearson and for Dellis ~chreck <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded that Abatement #4084 for <br /> Frank Pearson be reduced to $66,000 for 1996 and 1997, as recommended <br /> by the Director of Equalization and the City of Oxbow. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded that Abatement ~4088 for <br />Dellis Schrock be reduced to $172,300 for 1996 and 1997, as <br />recommended by the Director of Equalization and the City of Casselton. <br />On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, Cellular One and Wanzek Construction MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve the following <br /> contracts submitted by respective department head and portfolio <br /> commissioner, subject to State's Attorney approval; and authorize the <br /> chairman to sign: Cellular One for the County Engineer's cellular service; <br /> and Wanzek Construction, Inc. for bridge repair in Section 32, Durbin <br /> Township, in the amount of $14,835. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL OVERVIEW COMMITTEE, Rafi~ actions of November 3rd rs~_ardina_ actin_~ pay <br />for Social Services TEEM members and for ~tate's Attorney's secretary MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to re-instate acting pay for <br /> Thomas Dolan, Peggy Haugrud, Dawn Hildebrant, Diane Jorgenson and <br /> Kathryn Strandberg, retroactive to August 1, 1997, and continuing until <br /> December 31, 1997; and to initiate acting pay for the three additional <br /> TEEM members effective November 1, 1997 and concluding December 31, <br /> 1997. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve acting pay for <br />Debra Wheeler as a B22 Senior Legal Secretary in the State's Attorney's <br />Office, retroactive to August 1, 1997, and concluding on December 3t, <br />1997. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />FLOOD UPDATE, Cass County_ action plan and waiver request <br />Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz Regional Development Corporation, updated Commissioners on the home <br />buy-out program. He presented a final draft of the Cass County Action Plan and draft waiver request <br />to be sent to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary, Andrew Cuomo. <br />In order to execute the Action Plan, Cass County government is requesting a 31.5% waiver of the <br />Iow to moderate income requirement for use of the $1.4 million assigned to the county through the <br />HUD Disaster Relief Initiative. <br /> <br /> <br />
