Commission Minutes--August 25, 1997 1693 MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to increase the North Dakota Association of Counties dues from $18,500 to $20,304. Motion carded. MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to delete the line item for remodeling in the amount of $175,000. Motion carried. MOTION, passed Mrs. Quick moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to reduce the Contingency Fund from $40,000 to $30,000. Mr. Koenig moved to amend the motion to reduce the Contingency Fund to $20,000. Motion failed for lack of a second. At the call for the question on the main motion, the motion carried on roll call vote with four members voting "Aye" and Mr. Koenig opposing. MOTION, passed Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to delete the line item for group dental insurance in the amount of $193,000. Motion carried. MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to delete the line item for group disability insurance in the amount of $60,000. Motion carried. MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to decrease the group salary adjustments line item to $127,000 at this time, which would still allow for a %-step increase for those employees who have reached the top of the pay scale, which is market value for that position. Motion carried. MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to contribute $1,000 to the Humane Society. Motion carried on roll call vote with Mr. Meyer, Mr. Koenig and Mrs. Quick voting "Aye"; Mrs. Schneider and Mr. Wieland opposing. MOTION, passed Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to delete the cultural diversity line item in the amount of $4,500. Motion carried. Coordinator, Personnel, Buildine_s and Grounds MOTION, passed Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to delete $1,072 from group life insurance and reduce Human Resource training by $2,000. Motion carried.
