12. <br /> <br />13. <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--June 16, 1997 1642 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to authorize the chairman and <br />the county auditor to sign the following resolutions regarding Street <br />Improvement District No. 97-1 for Round Hill Estates Subdivision: <br />RESOLUTION #1997-13 CREATING STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. <br />97-1 OF THE COUNTY OF CASS, NORTH DAKOTA; RESOLUTION #1997- <br />14 DIRECTING ENGINEER TO PREPARE REPORT; RESOLUTION #1997-15 <br />DIRECTING ENGINEER TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS; AND <br />RESOLUTION #1997-16 DECLARING PETITION FOR IMPROVEMENT HAS <br />BEEN RECEIVED. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />TAX EQUALIZATION BOARD, Convened/recessed until July 7th <br />Frank Klein, Director of Equalization, was present and submitted a letter on this date stating he will <br />not have specific recommendations to equalize assessments until the July 7th Commission meeting. <br />Three townships have not held their annual equalization meetings as yet, due to the spring flood. <br />He suggested taking testimony today from anyone in the audience wishing to address the <br />commission regarding their assessment. <br /> <br />Mr. VVieland announced the equalization of cities and asked if there was anyone in the audience <br />who wished to address the Board in regard to their assessment. After making the announcement <br />three times and no one asked to speak to the board, the meeting proceeded. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland announced the equalization of townships and asked if there was anyone in the <br />audience who wished to address the Board in regard to their assessment. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Quick moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to recess the Board of <br /> Equalization until July 7, 1997. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE, Remodeling in annex building <br />Mr. Wieland provided copies of a potential drawing for Veterans Service office space in the Cass <br />County Government Annex. Mrs. Schneider said she was approached by Jim Brent, Veterans <br />Service Officer, and Mr. Brent submitted a letter requesting the county's space and planning <br />committee to consider development of office space in the unfinished portion on fourth floor of the <br />annex. He said the existing space is somewhat confining, and Mr. VVieland said the two main offices <br />would have windows which they do not have now. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to approve Veterans Service <br /> Office construction project subject to referral to the Space and Planning <br /> Committee. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />FLOOD UPDATE, Re_~ort by Lake Agassiz Regional Council <br />Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz Regional Council, reported that his agency met the deadline of June 7th <br />for filing Cass County's Notice of Interest in Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding, and so far, <br />239 residents are included. FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) was asked about an <br />accelerated application process, and Mr. Rustad reported that Lonnie Hoffer, State Division of <br /> <br /> <br />
