Commission Minutes--June 16, 1997 1641 PERMIT FOR SPECIAL EVENT, Approved for Fargo Holiday Inn MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve special event permit for Fargo Holiday Inn to serve alcoholic beverages on the date of June 24, 1997, at Bonanzaville, West Fargo, ND. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. EXTENSION SERVICE, Parenting Resource Center pro~_ram continuation MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded that the Parenting Resource Center Program/Coordinator be approved pending acceptance by the granting agency and the NDSU Extension Service, and its implementation for July 1, 1997 through June 30, 1998, to proceed according to guidelines presented in the proposal; further, the Cass County Extension Service budget be amended to incorporate a revenue and expense budget from the following funding sources: Region V Children's Service Coordinating Committee, Children's Trust Fund of North Dakota and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Out-of-stata travel approved MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve out-of-state travel for Deputy Sheriff, Jeff Olson, to Madison Lake, MN for rifle instructor training July 14-18, 1997. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Lightowler Johnson Associates for Highway Department building renovation _~ro_iects MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve the following contract submitted by respective department head and portfolio commissioner, subject to State's Attorney approval; and authorize the chairman to sign: Lightowler Johnson Associates for architectural/ engineering services, painting and window replacement at the Cass County Highway Department facility, West Fargo, ND. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. RESOLUTIONS #1997-13, 14, 15, 16, ~;treet Improvement District #97-1 for Round Hill Attorney Daniel Twichell presented a petition signed by 66% of the property owners within the Round Hill Subdivision for creation of a special assessment district for the purpose of reconstructing and resurfacing the streets within the proposed Cass County Street Improvement District No. 97-1. Mr. Wieland asked if the State's Attorney, John Goff, and the County Engineer, Keith Berndt, had any comments or concerns. Mr. Goff said he believes Mr. Twichell adequately stated the concerns of the law and the rest would be county policy. Mr. Berndt reserved his recommendation until such time as he has seen the final plans and specifications and would then respond to the commission.
