On roll <br />call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, North Dakota Department of Transportation; Ulteig Engineers; <br />Elder's Communications MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve the <br /> following contracts submitted by respective department head and <br /> portfolio commissioner, subject to State's Attorney approval; and <br /> authorize the chairman to sign: On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation--right of way and construction/ <br />maintenance agreement for Maple River Township Section 28-29 bridge project; <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation-County Highway 81 bikeway; <br />Ulteig Engineering-design of Cass County highway 4 grading project; <br />Elder's Communication-3 cellular phones and 3 accounts for highway department <br />foremen vehicles. <br /> <br />SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Out-of-state travel approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve out-of- <br /> state travel for Sheriff's Deputy Mitch Burris to attend a nine-state <br /> conference of gang investigators on March 17-19, 1997, in Omaha, NE; <br /> transportation is to be provided by the Fargo Police Department. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />SOCIAL SERVICES, Appeal under fair treatment policy MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to request outside <br /> review by a personnel expert concerning the Social Services appeal of <br /> Cathy Meyer under the fair treatment policy; this being in agreement <br /> with all the individuals involved. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />SENIOR CITIZEN BUS COMMITTEE, Recommendations approved <br />Mr. Meyer served as chairman of the Senior Citizen Bus Committee, and they have prepared five <br />recommendations for the County Commission's consideration. Mr. Meyer said the committee had <br />two full meetings and some subcommittee meetings where reports were made back to the full <br />committee. He has also been in contact with two state agencies that govern regulations on the <br />senior citizen bus. Mrs. Quick served on the committee, as well as other members who were <br />present today as follows: Everett Mattson, Brian Arett, Michael Montplaisir and John Goff. Joe <br />Zdeb, president-elect of the Cass County Council on Aging, was also present. Mr. Wieland <br />thanked the members of the committee for their time and input. He invited comments from the <br />audience and hearing none, opened it up to Commissioners. <br /> <br /> <br />
