He said assessments have been increasing 4-5% per year in the last three years and still not keeping up with market values. As far as using comparable sales in north Fargo, he said there were no sales of similar properties in Highland Park so he expanded the search to Harwood, Reed Township and sales in north Fargo, which are available to him through multiple listing service. Mr. Koenig said he feels reducing the valuation from $115,100 to $105,000 is a fair compromise from what the applicant requested, which was $98,000. Mr. Wieland said the market is very strong in Fargo and the surrounding areas. MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded that abatement ~4057 for Vicki Scherling be reduced to $105,000 as recommended by the Reed Township Board and the Director of Equalization. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. No one was present to address the Board on the second abatement application. MOTION, passed Mrs. Quick moved and Mr. Koenig seconded that abatement #4060 for Ned & Shelley Rector be reduced to $162,200 as recommended by Barnes Township and the Director of Equalization. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to approve Voucher No. 98,483 through No. 99,157. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. STATE'S ATTORNEY INVESTIGATION, Citizen input Jeannette Stanton, Fargo, asked the Commission to look into the history of the State's Attorney investigation and how the decision was made to hire attorneys from Minneapolis, what they were hired to do and if they were hired not to exceed a certain dollar amount for their services.
