19. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--January 6, 1997 1568 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #1997-3, Water Resource District board member recognition <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Quick moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve the following <br /> resolution of recognition for the late Ken Mclntyre, as read by the <br /> chairman: Motion carried. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ken Mclntyre was instrumental in assisting the state legislature in the drafting of <br /> legislation which established water boards in the State of North Dakota; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Ken Mclntyre demonstrated quality leadership by serving as a member of the Rush <br />River Water Resource District since its inception, which was the first water <br />management district created in the State of North Dakota; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Ken Mclntyre was a loyal and active member in the Rush River Water Resource <br />District for 43 years until his death in 1996 and was the last original surviving board <br />member; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Ken Mclntyre received numerous awards and recognition from many organizations, <br />and has long been recognized as a pioneer in water management issues in North <br />Dakota; <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Board of Commissioners of Cass County, North <br />Dakota, wish to recognize Ken Mclntyre for his dedicated and outstanding service to the Rush <br />River Water Resource District of Cass County. <br /> <br />Dated at Fargo, North Dakota, this 6th day of January, 1997. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, A_u_~roved MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve Vouchers <br /> No. 97,613 through No. 97,994. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS WORKSHOP; LEGISLATIVE MEETINGS; STATE'S ATTORNEY'S OFFICE <br />UPDATE; COMMISSION COMMUNICATION, Committee re_~orts <br />Newly elected commissioners were welcomed and said they appreciate the patience of <br />department heads and employees who have been helpful in providing information about their <br />respective offices. <br /> <br />County Coordinator, Bonnie Johnson, informed commissioners of the North Dakota Association <br />of Counties workshop for newly elected officials to be held in Bismarck on February 26-27, 1997 <br />at the Doublewood Inn. <br /> <br />Also, Ms. Johnson reminded commissioners of upcoming legislative review meetings to be held <br />Friday afternoons in the Commission Room at the Courthouse at 3:30 PM during the 1997 <br />legislative session. <br /> <br /> <br />
