Mr. Anderson said he
appreciates the opportunity to talk with the commission today, and he reported on what
steps the fair association is taking to improve management and financial reporting. He said
board members knew last July that records had been destroyed, and record keeping has
now been tightened. They anticipate hiring a new manager, probably in March. A legal
dispute began when the fair's manager was fired in December.

Also present today were Fred Anderson, Vice President of the fair board and member for
some 25 years, and Jim Thoreson, Cass County sheriff's deputy and fair board member.

Commissioners had an opportunity to inquire about future record-keeping and were assured
there would be safeguards, including the requirement for two board members to sign all
checks.
