FAIR DELEGATE, Commissioner Eckert to represent Cass County_ MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to appoint Don Eckert as the Cass County Commission delegate to the North Dakota State Fair annual meeting to be held in Minot, ND on November 2, 1996. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. 17. HEARING ON 1996 COUNTY BUDGET, Next bud_oet meetinq will be September 26th A public hearing was advertised for this date, time and place on the 1996 Cass County budget. Mrs. Toussaint opened the public hearing and invited comments from the audience. Char Aberle, Regional Child Support Enforcement Unit case analyst, addressed the commission as a mother and taxpayer to request reconsideration of the department's 1996 staffing request. She said the department is presently struggling to maintain the quality of service they now provide. Other members of the office were also present at the hearing. Mrs. Toussaint asked for any additional comments on the budget, and hearing none, closed the public hearing. A special meeting to adopt the 1996 final budget will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, September 26, 1995. 18. RESIGNATION, Veteran's Service Officer John Meyer reskjns effective October 17. 1995 As portfolio commissioner for the Veteran's Service Office, Mr. Wieland received and accepted a letter of resignation from John Meyer effective October 17, 1995. A Position Analysis Questionnaire (PAQ) for the position will be provided to all commissioners, and Mr. Wieland suggested appointing a committee to review replacement options. MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to accept Mr. Wieland's action on behalf of the Board of Cass County Commissioners to accept the resignation of John Meyer, Veteran's Service Officer. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded that a committee be established to review the PAQ and replacement options for the Cass County Veteran's Service Officer position, the committee to consist of the following members: Commission Chairman Bernie Ness; Portfolio Commissioner Alon Wieland; Social Services Director Kathy Hogan; County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson; and a representative of a veterans' group to be selected by the board of commissioners at a future date. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. 19. CASS COUNTY GOVERNMENT ANNEX OPEN HOUSE; COMMITTEE TO STUDY SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS, Committee reports Open house at the newly completed Cass County Government Annex located at 1010 Second Avenue South, Fargo, will be held Wednesday afternoon, September 27, 1995, with ribbon cutting scheduled for 2:30 PM.
