On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #1995-11, Condolences to family of G. Everett Thoreson <br /> Motion, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to adopt <br /> Resolution #1995-11 as follows: On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners, on behalf of <br />the citizens of Cass County, express sincere sympathy to the <br />family of Traill County Commissioner, G. Everett Thoreson, who <br />passed away last week. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #1995-12, Congratulations tO Don and Betty Eckert <br /> Motion, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to adopt <br /> Resolution #1995-12 as follows: On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners, on behalf of <br />the citizens of Cass County, congratulate Cass County <br />Commissioner Don Eckert and his wife, Betty, on their 50th <br />wedding anniversary this month. <br /> <br />TAX EXEMPTION FOR NEW BUSINESS DENIED, Public hearina held <br />A public hearing was held on exemption of new business application <br />filed by David Welken d/b/a Mr. Spindle, Inc. Mr. Welken requested <br />a 5-year, 100% tax exemption for a business which manufactures <br />wooden deck parts. A notice to competitors was published in the <br />county's official newspaper by Mr. Welken, and a copy of the <br />affidavit of publication was filed with the secretary at this time. <br /> <br />The chairman opened the public hearing and invited comments from <br />people who wanted to speak in favor of the exemption. Joseph Esch, <br />Fargo-Cass County Economic Development Corporation, spoke in favor <br />of the tax exemption and requested that the Commission waive the <br />requirement of the minimum salary of $7.50 per hour and the fully- <br />paid single health insurance premium because application was filed <br />before the policy was adopted and industry wages are not up to that <br />level. <br /> <br /> <br />
