Minutes--June 5, 1995 1347 <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />22. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to deny the <br />request from Airborne Custom Spraying to spray over rural <br />subdivisions. Discussion: Mr. Wieland said they may reapply <br />if the situation becomes a health hazard. On roll call vote, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />STATE'S ATTORNEY, Boy SCout~ of America/Law Explorer Proaram <br />Alan Dohrmann, Assistant State's Attorney, was present with members of <br />the Northern Lights Council of the Boy Scouts of America regarding a <br />request for the State's Attorney's Office to participate in a Law <br />Explorer program, which would provide first-hand exposure to the legal <br />system to young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21. <br /> <br />County facilities and a small amount of county resources would be needed <br />to begin the program, according to Mr. Dohrmann. The State's <br />Attorney's Office would be responsible for a $20 annual national charter <br />fee and would serve as the chartering organization. Meetings would be <br />held about twice per month, after regular county office hours, and would <br />be held in the Sheriff's Residence meeting room because of courthouse <br />security. Mr. Goff said areas in the courthouse may be needed <br />occasionally, for instance, the court rooms; and he will address <br />security issues at that time. <br /> <br />Concerning a possible trip to the North Dakota Supreme Court in <br />Bismarck, Mark Holtz, Executive Director of the Northern Lights Council, <br />said a number of his organization's regulations would need to be <br />followed; and Boy Scouts of America would be responsible for the <br />liability. When he was first approached about this program, Mr. Goff <br />said he was assured that it would not interfere in any way with the <br />responsibilities of the State's Attorney's Office. Mr. Eckert asked for <br />a progress report on the program about every six months. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to approve <br /> State's Attorney's Office participation in a Law Exploring <br /> program. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, APPrOved MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve <br /> Voucher No. 75,555 though Voucher No. 76,761. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />TROLLWOOD ABATEMENT; WATER RESOURCE DISTRICT MEETING; NORTH DAKOTA <br />ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES DUES MEETING; PERSONNEL RECORDS; PAYROLL <br />ASSISTANCE, Committee reports <br />Mr. Goff was contacted by the attorney for the Trollwood Center <br />abatement application about the hearing process and setting the date. <br />Commissioners agreed to schedule the Trollwood abatement hearing for <br />9:00 AM on Monday, July 10, 1995. <br /> <br /> <br />
