Comm. Minutes--April 17, 1995 1323 <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />county committee should be established consisting of the <br />County Auditor, County Coordinator, Data Processing Coordinator <br />and Chairman of the County Commission to study the pros and cons <br />of belonging to the NDACo and NDCAT. Also, she suggested a <br />maximum amount of dues for any one county, and Mr. Wieland said <br />that is something the NDACo committee can consider. He asked <br />Mr. Ruzicka to place an item on the next committee meeting <br />agenda to discuss the time frame for sending out dues notice. <br />Mr. Ruzicka asked Mr. Ness to serve on the NDACo committee to <br />study dues structure, and Mr. Ness was in agreement. Mr. Ness <br />said he plans to appoint a county committee to study the <br />benefits of Cass County belonging to NDACo and NDCAT, as <br />suggested by Mrs. Toussaint, and he invited other commissioners <br />to serve on the committee also. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE FIRST READING, Planning Commission membership <br />County Engineer Keith Berndt proposed an ordinance, which was drafted <br />by a subcommittee of the County Planning Commission, to change the <br />Planning Commission membership to allow for more rural representation. <br />The ordinance was reviewed and approved as to form by the State's <br />Attorney. Mr. Ness said the Cass County Township Officer's Association <br />favors the change. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to consider <br /> the April 17, 1995, Commission meeting as first reading of <br /> the ordinance to change Planning Commission membership; and <br /> to schedule second reading and proposed adoption at the May <br /> 15, 1995, Commission meeting. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />ABATEMENT HEARINGS, Larry & Vicki Scherling; Burlington Northern <br />Railroad; Soo Line Railroad MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded that <br /> abatement ~4002 for Larry and Vicki Scherling be approved <br /> as recommended by the City of North River and the Director <br /> of Equalization. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that <br />abatement #4004 for Burlington Northern Railroad be denied <br />and that the Burlington Northern Railroad be directed to <br />District Court if aggrieved. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded that <br />abatement #4005 for Soo Line Railroad be denied and that <br />the Soo Line Railroad be directed to appeal to District <br />Court if aggrieved. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
