Comm. Minutes--January 3, 1995 1290 <br /> <br />24. <br /> <br />25. <br /> <br />26. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint said she appreciates the work some of the departments <br />did to reduce travel costs on their own, and she said the Commission <br />wants to encourage staff to attend seminars closer to home. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider asked about staff getting necessary education credits, <br />and Mr. Montplaisir said county departments felt they could make the <br />adjustments for this year. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve <br /> financial distribution plan as presented. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />TAX-FORFEITED PROPERTY, Warren Bar <br />A letter was received from the County Auditor regarding tax-forfeited <br />property in Warren Township which has a structure located on it known <br />as the Warren Bar. <br /> <br />The County Engineer reviewed the property and contacted the Davenport <br />Fire Department about conducting a controlled burn drill because the <br />building is in very poor condition and the County is concerned about <br />liability. The County Road Department is willing to bury remaining <br />debris, at a cost of approximately $3,000 for equipment and labor. <br />The cost for the controlled burn would be a modest donation to the <br />fire department. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize <br /> the County Engineer to proceed with having the structure, <br /> known as the Warren Bar, burned and buried on site at a <br /> cost not to exceed $3,500 to be paid from contingency <br /> funds. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, APProved MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve <br /> Vouchers No. 70,271 through No. 71,331. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />LEGISLATIVE MEETINGS; STATE'S ATTORNEY INVESTIGATOR COMPLIMENTED, <br />Committee reports <br />Commissioners will again meet with department heads on a weekly basis <br />to discuss legislative bills. The meetings will be held at 3:30 PM <br />on Fridays in the Commission Room. Mr. Ness asked Mr. Wieland to <br />chair the first two meetings on his behalf. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint complimented State's Attorney Investigator Dean Wawers <br />in response to a letter from Richland County expressing appreciation <br />for his assistance and expertise on a case. <br /> <br /> <br />
