MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded that the <br /> Chairman write a letter to Mark Johnson, NDACo Executive <br /> Director, requesting that their grant request be reviewed <br /> after all other grant requests are reviewed. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />-JEANS DAY" CHARITY PROMOTION, Referred to department heads <br />Marcia Kemmer, Personnel Coordinator, appeared before the board on <br />behalf of Benefits Review Committee recommendation of March 22, 1994, <br />to have the County Commission consider allowing a "Jeans Day" the <br />second Friday of every month. This would apply to employees who <br />participate in a payroll deduction of $1.00/month to be contributed <br />to the "Just Say No" program of Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness suggested that this request be reviewed by county department <br />heads for a recommendation. Some departments have expressed concern <br />about setting guidelines on the type of clothing allowed. Mrs. Kemmer <br />said the program is structured so that any company may make their own <br />determination of what is considered appropriate attire. Mr. Risher <br />asked Mrs. Kemmer to obtain financial information on this program. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to refer the <br /> "Jeans Day" request to county department heads for a <br /> recommendation back to the Commission. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />NACO REGIONAL CONFERENCE, Approval for commissioners to attend <br />In a memo to fellow commissioners dated March 25, 1994, Mr. Risher <br />requested approval for his expenses to attend the National Association <br />of Counties (NACo) Western Interstate Regional Conference May 18-21, <br />1994, at the Radisson Inn, Bismarck. Estimated expenses include $250 <br />for registration and $40.00/night lodging. Mr. Montplaisir said the <br />in-state motel rate is $35.00 per night. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to pay travel <br /> expenses from the Commission travel budget for any Cass <br /> County Commissioner who wishes to attend the NACo Western <br /> Interstate Regional Conference in Bismarck on May 18-21, <br /> 1994. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Approved with one exception <br />Mrs. Toussaint reviewed bills this month and questioned voucher #59903 <br />for County Court probation officer mileage. She said the bill includes <br />car rental for one week but the length of the seminar he attended was <br />three days. Total reimbursement request on this voucher is $276.13, <br />which includes car rental of $156.13, with mileage of 1,124 miles. <br />She recommends not paying the car rental bill. MOTION, withdrawn <br /> Mr. Wieland moved to deny paying the car rental on Voucher <br /> #59903. Meal reimbursement was also a concern on this bill, <br /> and Mr. Ness suggested obtaining a copy of the agenda for <br /> the entire trip. Mr. Wieland withdrew his motion and will <br /> support further inquiry into this matter. <br /> <br /> <br />
