On roll <br />call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Ness seconded to approve <br />Voucher No. 59363 through No. 60541, with the exception of <br />No. 59903. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Toussaint will report her findings back to the Board. <br /> <br />WEED CONTROL OFFICER RESIGNATION; PARK BOARD MEETING; PETITION ON <br />UNFUNDED MANDATES; AGENDA PROCEDURES; 911 DISPATCH; BUILDINGS AND <br />GROUNDS UPDATE; COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEEK, Committee reports <br />Mr. Eckert read a letter addressed to the Cass County Weed Control <br />Board from Wayne Colberg resigning as Cass County weed Control Officer <br />effective April 15, 1994. The Weed Control Board will meet at 7:00 PM <br />today to discuss appointing an acting weed officer, Mr. Eckert said. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert received a copy of a letter addressed to the Cass County <br />Park Board (attention Alon Wieland) from the Wild Rice Bar and Grill <br />owners/operators requesting county park funds for development of a <br />ball diamond and park recreation in Wild Rice. A Park Board meeting <br />was then scheduled for April 18 after the Commission meeting that day. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland provided a letter and petition from Dave Vanderscoff, <br />candidate for U.S. Senate, concerning the issue of unfunded mandates. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint asked the Chairman to send a copy of Commission Policy <br />Manual Section 13.40, Agenda Procedures, to all departments and to <br />commissioners as a reminder of the procedures to be followed. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness said the transfer date for 911 dispatch from Cass County to <br />the City of Fargo has been changed to May 3rd, instead of the April <br />date, as there are still some questions to be answered. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness complimented Mrs. Johnson and the maintenance staff for the <br />improved appearance of county buildings and grounds this spring. <br /> <br />In view of the upcoming County Government Week, Mr. Risher asked <br />Congressman Earl Pomeroy to write a letter about unfunded mandates. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and <br /> file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from Karen Nitzkorski of Harwood urging continuation of <br />D.A.R.E. funding in the 1995 county budget; <br /> <br />North Dakota Association of Counties information letter dated <br />March 29, 1994, regarding upcoming events in April and May; <br /> <br /> <br />
