ROAD DEPARTMENT, Purchase orders for equipment and Dick-up MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize issuance of the following purchase orders for the Road Department: 1) Total Station Survey Equipment from Mathison Company in the amount of ~13,637.90; 2) safety lighting for motor graders and trucks from James J. Vaessen Company in the amount of ~7,740.00 (12 DOT System 102A lighting packages); and 3) one 9000 GVW, 4-door, two-wheel drive pickup from W.W. Wallwork, Inc. at the state bid price of ~16,246.00. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. NORTH DAKOTA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, Authorize payroll deduction MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize payroll deduction for NDPEA (North Dakota Public Employees Association) dues, according to personnel policy Section 7.31. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. CONTRACT, North Dakota Department of Transportation/Thorson, Inc. MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve the following contract submitted by County Engineer Keith Berndt as approved by the State's Attorney, and authorize Chairman to sign: resolution and agreement to authorize North Dakota Department of Transportation to accept bid from Thorson, Inc., low bidder in the amount of ~1,067,310.16, for asphalt surfacing of 6 miles of County Road 11 near Mapleton. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. ABATEMENT APPLICATION, Red River Human Services Francis Klein, Director of Tax Equalization, provided copies of his investigation of the Red River Human Services abatement application. A hearing, which was scheduled for 8:30 AM on this date, was cancelled last week by the attorney for the applicant. MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that Red River Human Services Abatement #3980 and #3981 be reduced to a total valuation of $1,211,000, in accordance with the recommendation of Tax Director Francis Klein, as received on March 28, 1994. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that Red River Human Services Abatement #3978 and #3979 be reduced to a true and full valuation of $1,024,500 for 1991 and to ~877,500 for 1992, in accordance with the recommendation of Tax Director Francis Klein received March 28, 1994. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.
