Minutes--April 4, 1994 1190 <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />15. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Purchase orders for equipment and Dick-up <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize <br /> issuance of the following purchase orders for the Road <br /> Department: 1) Total Station Survey Equipment from <br /> Mathison Company in the amount of ~13,637.90; 2) safety <br /> lighting for motor graders and trucks from James J. Vaessen <br /> Company in the amount of ~7,740.00 (12 DOT System 102A <br /> lighting packages); and 3) one 9000 GVW, 4-door, two-wheel <br /> drive pickup from W.W. Wallwork, Inc. at the state bid <br /> price of ~16,246.00. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />NORTH DAKOTA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, Authorize payroll deduction <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize <br /> payroll deduction for NDPEA (North Dakota Public Employees <br /> Association) dues, according to personnel policy Section <br /> 7.31. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONTRACT, North Dakota Department of Transportation/Thorson, Inc. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve <br /> the following contract submitted by County Engineer Keith <br /> Berndt as approved by the State's Attorney, and authorize <br /> Chairman to sign: resolution and agreement to authorize <br /> North Dakota Department of Transportation to accept bid <br /> from Thorson, Inc., low bidder in the amount of <br /> ~1,067,310.16, for asphalt surfacing of 6 miles of County <br /> Road 11 near Mapleton. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />ABATEMENT APPLICATION, Red River Human Services <br />Francis Klein, Director of Tax Equalization, provided copies of his <br />investigation of the Red River Human Services abatement application. <br />A hearing, which was scheduled for 8:30 AM on this date, was cancelled <br />last week by the attorney for the applicant. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that Red <br /> River Human Services Abatement #3980 and #3981 be reduced <br /> to a total valuation of $1,211,000, in accordance with the <br /> recommendation of Tax Director Francis Klein, as received <br /> on March 28, 1994. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that Red <br />River Human Services Abatement #3978 and #3979 be reduced <br />to a true and full valuation of $1,024,500 for 1991 and to <br />~877,500 for 1992, in accordance with the recommendation of <br />Tax Director Francis Klein received March 28, 1994. On <br />roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
