On roll call vote, SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, Appointment of Leon Johnson MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to appoint Leon Johnson as County Superintendent of Schools, per letter from Kathy Hawken, Chairman Cass County School Board, and letter from the County Auditor, with a formal starting date to be worked out between the Auditor and Mr. Johnson; Mr. Johnson to be paid the hourly salary of ~12.00. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. COUNTY DEED TO CITY OF KINDRED, Chairman and Auditor to sign MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize the Chairman and Auditor to sign County Deed for property sold to the City of Kindred. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Out-of-state travel approved MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve out-of-state travel for Mary Caraway and Lori Lawson to attend the American Jail Associations Annual Training Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, on May 1-5, 1994. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. SOCIAL SERVICES, Out-of-state travel approved MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve out-of-state travel for Beth Desotel to Fergus Falls, MN March 30, 1994; and for Gwen Berg to attend National Conference on Homelessness in Minneapolis April 21-23, 1994. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. PERMIT FOR RAFFLE, Embden Community Club MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve raffle permit for Embden Community Club to be held at Embden Center on June 23, 1994, in Embden, ND. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. BEER AND LIQUOR LICENSE, Sunday opening for Wild Rice Bar MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve application for Sunday Alcoholic Beverage Permit for Wild Rice Bar and Grill on April 10, 1994, and July 3, 1994. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. MEMORANDUM FOR EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE, Steele County MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize Chairman to sign Memorandum of Understanding for Emergency Assistance with Steele County· On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.
