Bend, Kansas. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, Reliance Telephone; Wanzek Construction <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve <br /> and authorize the chairman to sign the following contracts <br /> submitted by respective department heads and portfolio <br /> commissioners, and approved by the State's Attorney: l) <br /> Reliance Telephone for the jail inmate phone system; and <br /> 2) Wanzek Construction, Inc. for replacement of a bridge on <br /> Cass County Road 11, one mile north of Mapleton. On roll <br /> call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Vehicle purchases from Rydell Chevrolet <br /> MOTION~ passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize <br /> issuance of purchase order to Rydell Chevrolet for purchase <br /> of three compact two wheel drive extended cab pickups and <br /> one compact four wheel drive extended cab pickup, according <br /> to memo from County Engineer Keith Berndt dated March 21, <br /> 1994. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />NDSU (NORTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY), Master plan presented <br />Dick Rayl, Vice President of Business and Finance at NDSU (North <br />Dakota State University), presented a document entitled "NDSU Facility <br />Master Plan." He highlighted parts of the plan, which he said is <br />being presented for information purposes to Cass County Government. <br />A copy of the plan is on file in the Commission Secretary's Office. <br /> <br />COMMISSION POLICY MANUAL, Amend section 4.00, advisory boards <br />Mr. Eckert asked to move this item from the consent agenda to the <br />regular agenda because he believes it is county policy to open any <br />vacancy to the public. Bernie Ness has resigned from the Cass County <br />Vector Control Board and recommends appointing Claude H. Schmidt to <br />replace him. He said Mr. Schmidt was the only applicant last December <br />for the Vector Control Board, other than an incumbent who was <br />reappointed. After reviewing the r~sum6 and qualifications of Mr. <br />Schmidt, Mr· Ness believes he should serve on this board in his place. <br />Mr. Schmidt is agreeable to this appointment. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Ness seconded to amend <br /> Commission Policy Manual Section 4.00, Advisory Boards, to <br /> appoint Claude H. Schmidt to the Cass County Vector Control <br /> Board in place of Bernie Ness. <br /> AMENDED MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Ness seconded to amend the <br /> above motion to include that Mr. Schmidt's term will expire <br /> December 31, 1996, the same time that Mr. Ness' term on the <br /> County Commission expires. On roll call vote, the amended <br /> motion carried unanimously. On roll call vote, the main <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
