Minutes--December 20, 1993 1150 <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />Personnel Overview Committee <br />Mike Steiner (replacing Michael Montplaisir) <br /> <br />Space and Planning Committee <br />Dorothy Howard <br /> <br />Employee Benefits Review Committee <br />John Meyer <br />Deanna Kensrud <br /> <br />CONTRACT FOR 911, City of Fargo <br />Mr. Ness said the City of Fargo has the necessary equipment and staff <br />to dispatch Cass County 911 calls, and he recommends contracting with <br />them for the cost of 911 fee collections. He said the County Planner <br />is updating the Master Street Addressing Guide (MSAG), which must be <br />1% or less error factor before the City of Fargo will accept it. A <br />meeting will be held with first responders in the County along with <br />the Sheriff's Office to be sure there is a smooth transition from the <br />consumer standpoint. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland asked if the City of West Fargo proposed a contract with <br />Cass County, and Mr. Ness said they did not. He said they may have <br />been interested if this was a long-term commitment, but the proposed <br />contract between the City of Fargo and Cass County Government is for <br />one year's time, January 1, 1994 through December 31, 1994. <br /> <br />Mr. Risher asked about the paragraph concerning liability issues, and <br />Mr. Goff said each entity is resDonsible for the actions of their own <br />employees. Cass County will not be actively involved in the dispatch. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reported that the Joint Dispatch Committee is still <br />active, and Mrs. Toussaint said this agreement doesn't take the place <br />of the committee. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded to authorize the <br /> chairman to sign the 911 contract between Cass County <br /> Government and the City of Fargo for the calendar year 1994 <br /> with payment being the cost of the annual 911 fee <br /> collections. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />WORK PLANS, Commissioners report on portfolio departments <br />Commissioners received work plan updates from all departments, and <br />they gave a verbal report to other members of the Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert read a letter of resignation from Bruce Hoefs, County <br />Superintendent of Schools, effective January 14, 1994. <br /> <br />COMMISSION CF~AIR AND VICE C~AIR, Selection for 1994 <br />In the future, Mr. Wieland asked that commissioners' names be omitted <br />from the suggested motion so the determination can be made during the <br />meeting instead of prior to the meeting. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to forward to the <br /> January 3rd, 1994, consent agenda for the commission to <br /> ratify the names of Commissioner Steve Risher as Chairman <br /> of the Cass County Board of Commissioners for 1994 and the <br /> <br /> <br />
