Personnel Overview Committee Mike Steiner (replacing Michael Montplaisir) Space and Planning Committee Dorothy Howard Employee Benefits Review Committee John Meyer Deanna Kensrud CONTRACT FOR 911, City of Fargo Mr. Ness said the City of Fargo has the necessary equipment and staff to dispatch Cass County 911 calls, and he recommends contracting with them for the cost of 911 fee collections. He said the County Planner is updating the Master Street Addressing Guide (MSAG), which must be 1% or less error factor before the City of Fargo will accept it. A meeting will be held with first responders in the County along with the Sheriff's Office to be sure there is a smooth transition from the consumer standpoint. Mr. Wieland asked if the City of West Fargo proposed a contract with Cass County, and Mr. Ness said they did not. He said they may have been interested if this was a long-term commitment, but the proposed contract between the City of Fargo and Cass County Government is for one year's time, January 1, 1994 through December 31, 1994. Mr. Risher asked about the paragraph concerning liability issues, and Mr. Goff said each entity is resDonsible for the actions of their own employees. Cass County will not be actively involved in the dispatch. Mr. Wieland reported that the Joint Dispatch Committee is still active, and Mrs. Toussaint said this agreement doesn't take the place of the committee. MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded to authorize the chairman to sign the 911 contract between Cass County Government and the City of Fargo for the calendar year 1994 with payment being the cost of the annual 911 fee collections. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. WORK PLANS, Commissioners report on portfolio departments Commissioners received work plan updates from all departments, and they gave a verbal report to other members of the Commission. Mr. Eckert read a letter of resignation from Bruce Hoefs, County Superintendent of Schools, effective January 14, 1994. COMMISSION CF~AIR AND VICE C~AIR, Selection for 1994 In the future, Mr. Wieland asked that commissioners' names be omitted from the suggested motion so the determination can be made during the meeting instead of prior to the meeting. MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to forward to the January 3rd, 1994, consent agenda for the commission to ratify the names of Commissioner Steve Risher as Chairman of the Cass County Board of Commissioners for 1994 and the
