MAINTENANCE UPDATE; WELFARE-TO-WORK PROGRAM; SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS POSITION; COURT CONSOLIDATION; EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION, Committee reports County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson reported that maintenance employee, Ron Leon, had surgery recently and plans to return to work the first week in January. Mr. Risher said two more clients have signed up as welfare-to-work participants. In Mr. Hoefs' resignation letter, he suggested opening the lines of communication with county schools. Mr. Montplaisir asked him to set up a meeting with the School Master's Association to give their input on the county superintendent's position, and this can be taken into consideration when filling the half-time position for the remainder of next year. Mrs. Toussaint met with District Judge Norman Backes and with Dorothy Howard, Clerk of District Court, on court consolidation. Mrs. Toussaint thanked the commission and staff for their cooperation during her term as Cass County Commission Chair. Mr. Wieland also expressed his appreciation for the Commission's support on various issues, and he said Cass County is fortunate to have qualified department heads and employees working for the county. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. letter of recommendation for appointing Mark Andrews III to the Rush River Water Resource District; information from Office of Attorney General on zoning seminar to be held from 1:00 - 4:30 PM on Thursday, January 6th, 1994, at the Health Department Environmental Training Center in Bismarck; Bruce Hoefs letter of resignation from the position of County Superintendent of Schools, effective January 14, 1993; letter from Fargo Chamber of Commerce regarding Community Image Task Force; Notice of Claim and Demand for Compensation by Richard Varriano on behalf of 17 claimants (referred to State's Attorney); information from U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service describing management activities on service lands; suggested bid letting dates for counties from the suppliers (referred to County Engineer);
