Minutes--November 15, 1993 1133 <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />15. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT, Consultant services for recovery division <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize the <br /> Regional Child Support Enforcement Unit to spend up to <br /> $2,000 from their office equipment line item by December <br /> 31, 1993, for the purpose of contracting for services of a <br /> private consultant regarding the establishment of a <br /> recovery division designed to enhance collections in the <br /> areas of child support and welfare fraud. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONTRACT WITH S.R.F., INC. ON INTERGOVERNMENTAL ROADWAY POLICY STUDY, <br />Road Engineer to cancel contract <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize the <br /> County Engineer to terminate contract with Strgar-Roscoe- <br /> Fausch, Inc. on intergovernmental roadway policy study. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS, County/city calendar for 1994 <br />Alice Hauan, President of the Fargo League of Women Voters, and Donna <br />Chalimonczyk, who chaired the calendar committee, were present to <br />thank the county commission for their support and assistance from <br />county staff in the joint effort to produce the county/city calendar. <br />Mrs. Hauan said 9,995 calendars were mailed to rural Cass County <br />residents and 35,722 were mailed to residents of the City of Fargo. <br />Additional copies of the calendar are available in the office of the <br />county coordinator and county auditor. <br /> <br />REGISTER OF DEEDS, Progress report on backlog <br />Deanna Kensrud, Register of Deeds, reported that the backlog of <br />documents in her department has now been reduced by 51%, and her goal <br />continues to be to complete the backlog by the end of this year. <br />About one-half of the funds allocated for the purpose of eliminating <br />the backlog have been spent so far. The Commission commended the <br />department for the progress made since last month. <br /> <br />JUVENILE JUSTICE CENTER, Possible addition of three floors/architect <br />to prepare drawings for bidding to multiple prime contractors <br />Mrs. Toussaint said the County Commission referred the matter of <br />building additional floors on the Juvenile Justice Center back to the <br />Space & Planning Committee, which met earlier today and discussed <br />space needs of the Cass County Social Services Department. At that <br />meeting, Kathy Hogan reported that adding two floors to the Juvenile <br />Justice Center would not be sufficient to house current staff so <br />discussion began on adding three floors. The architect estimated the <br />additional cost at $700,000 and said the present building would <br />support three additional floors. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to accept the <br /> Space & Planning Committee recommendation of November 15, <br /> 1993, to pursue the construction of three additional floors <br /> on the Juvenile Justice Center building contingent upon the <br /> ability to do a financial plan with the County Auditor. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
