Comm. Minutes--April 5, 1993 1014 <br /> <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Ness seconded to adopt the <br /> implementation plan outlined by Mr. Risher. Discussion: <br /> Heather Worden, Auditor's Office employee, questioned the <br />~~ additional health insurance premium for people who reside <br /> with someone who smokes. Mr. Eckert suggested expanding <br /> the smoking ban to state "all county buildings" and not <br /> just "office buildings." <br /> ~MENDED MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Risher seconded to amend the <br /> smoking ban to declare all county buildings smoke free by <br /> January 1, 1994, as opposed to stating "office buildings." <br /> On roll call vote, motion carried on the amended motion. <br /> On roll call vote, motion carried on the main motion as <br /> amended. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Approved <br />Mr. Risher reviewed the list of bills with the county auditor, and he <br />questioned one billing for rain gear for the Sheriff's Department <br />purchased from an out-of-state firm. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that Vouchers No. <br /> 47,228 through No. 48,370 be approved and ordered paid. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />LEGISLATIVE UPDATE, JOINT DISPATCH, COURTHOUSE SECURITY UPDATE, <br />VEHICLE USE POLICY, TOWNSHIP OFFICER'S ASSOCIATION, Committee reports <br />Mr. Wieland gave an update on legislative issues. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, said she arranged to have Glenn <br />Ellingsberg from the Sheriff's Department take over her duties <br />concerning the Joint Dispatch Council during her absence. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said the architect for the court security remodeling <br />project estimated that it would cost $55-65,000 to remodel the <br />Courthouse entrance, as discussed at a previous committee meeting, to <br />improve security for the entire building. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness reported that he and Auditor Michael Montplaisir discussed <br />state contracts on vehicle and gasoline purchases with the North <br />Dakota Motor Pool. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint asked Mr. Eckert about the background of a resolution <br />passed by the Cass County Township Officers Association at the spring <br />annual meeting held last week. Mr. Eckert said the resolution was <br />prepared prior to the meeting, was read at the meeting and approved <br />as presented. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and <br /> file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from John Otterness, Chairman of Cass County School <br />Masters Association, regarding secretarial service for the <br />office of Cass County Superintendent of Schools; <br /> <br /> <br />
