Minutes--January 19, 1993 987 <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />22. <br /> <br />negligent in eradicating noxious weeds, at which time Mr. Colberg <br />would direct the work and charge it against the property owner's <br />taxes. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness asked about a comprehensive weed survey that was done in the <br />early 1980's, and Mr. Colberg said he has a copy of that. He said he <br />prepares an annual report to the Commissioner of Agriculture, which <br />is available to the county commission. <br /> <br />As far as their meeting schedule is concerned, Mr. Colberg said the <br />County Weed Control Board meets about four times per year with dates <br />being set by the chairman. He said he will take full responsibility <br />for notifying the media of upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness asked if any vehicles will be used in February and March, <br />which is the time set by the commission for all departments having <br />county-owned vehicles to complete a vehicle use report form for a 60- <br />day period. Mr. Colberg said all of the weed control vehicles are in <br />cold storage at this time. <br /> <br />VECTOR CONTROL, Report on 1993 work plans <br />Joel Young, Vector Control Officer, highlighted his 1993 work plan. <br />Concerning the vehicle use reporting form which the County Commission <br />adopted earlier today, Mr. Young said one vehicle may have minimal <br />use during the 60-day time frame. He said Vector Control vehicles <br />are on a maintenance schedule at the City of Fargo's Central Garage, <br />and he gets a monthly print-out on each vehicle. Mr. Risher asked for <br />a year-end report, which Mr. Young said he will provide. <br /> <br />COMPUTER INTEGRATION, Update on judicial and law enforcement systems <br />County Judge Frank Racek said the court management system was used in <br />County Court for the first time today, and he said satisfactory <br />progress has been made on that part of the computer package. He said <br />the Data Processing Department is trying to arrange the next training <br />before the State's Attorney's Office can begin on the system. He <br />stressed the importance of having all of the affected departments <br />involved from the beginning. Mrs. Toussaint said she talked to the <br />Data Processing Coordinator and asked him to include the Sheriff's <br />Department on the training schedule <br /> <br />PLANNING DEPARTMENT, Schedule for development of planning organization <br />County Engineer Keith Berndt presented a proposed schedule for the <br />development of planning organization recommendations. He said the <br />goal is to have the mission statement approved at the March 15th, <br />1993, county commission meeting with overall planning organization and <br />fee structure approved by April 19th, 1993. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Risher seconded to approve the <br /> schedule for development of planning organization <br /> recommendations as prepared by Keith Berndt. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
