Minutes--December 7, 1992 965 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to adopt the <br />county review of the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund <br />Liability Hazard Survey and to begin implementation of such <br />report immediately. The portfolio commissioner for <br />buildings and grounds, weed control, Brewer Lake and road <br />department shall contact each department head immediately <br />to begin implementation of the plan. A memo shall be sent <br />to the sheriff about the radio tower signage, and the three <br />items dealing with fleet safety shall be referred to the <br />Personnel Overview Committee. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PARKING LOT REQUESTS, Denied for various reasons <br />Mr. and Mrs. Craig Richie, owners of property adjacent to the county <br />parking lot east of the Courthouse, appeared before the board to <br />explain options for use of county parking spaces, which he proposed <br />in a letter to the Cass County Commission dated November 25, 1992. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said he receives numerous requests to use the county <br />parking lot from nearby apartment dwellers. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to deny the <br /> request for parking for security reasons and because it <br /> would open the door for providing space for others. <br /> On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, Bridge replacement alternate bid accepted <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Upon the request of County Road Engineer Keith Berndt, <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize <br /> the Chairman to sign resolution requesting North Dakota <br /> Department of Transportation to accept the bid from <br /> Industrial Builders on contract for replacement of a bridge <br /> span on County Road #34, Project BRC 0914 (51), over the <br /> Red River. This motion and resolution supersedes the <br /> motion/resolution of November 16, 1992. The previous <br /> resolution was to accept the bid without painting the <br /> existing structure. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to approve <br /> Vouchers No. 42,960 through No. 43,905 subject to final <br /> review by Commissioner Wieland. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS, Weed/vector control, election concerns, .joint <br />dispatch <br />Mrs. Toussaint said the Commission didn't designate a time for <br />scheduling a report from the State's Attorney on weed and vector <br />control. Mr. Golf was agreeable to scheduling this for the December <br />21st meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
