SOCIAL SERVICES, Out of state travel <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Risher moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to approve out <br />of state travel for Roger Flynn to attend a workshop in <br />Minneapolis, on November 21 and 22, 1991. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. PRAIRIE PUBLIC TV, Statement of compliance wi th comprehensive land use <br />policy plan <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Risher moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to authorize <br />the Chairman to sign a letter to Prairie Public <br />Broadcasting indicating compliance with Cass County's <br />comprehensive land use plan to be submitted with their <br />application to Farmers Home Administration for funding <br />special projects. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />10. APPOINTMENTS, Far~o-Cass County Economic Development Corporation <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Risher moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to appoint <br />Commissioners Alon Wieland and Steve Risher to Fargo-Cass <br />County Economic Development Corporation for a one-year term <br />beginning January 1, 1992. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11. SOCIAL SERVICES, Appointment of two advisory members <br />Commissioners received a memo, dated October 24, 1991, from Pepper <br />Toussaint explaining the interview process and the basis for the <br />following recommendations made by herself and Kathy Hogan, Social <br />Services Director: 1) establish a five-member Social Service Board <br />with two advisory members; 2) appoint two advisory members for a two- <br />year term; 3) schedule a re-evaluation of the new structure after 12 <br />months. In interviewing the applicants, she said an attempt was made <br />to identify skills or interests that would benefit both the Social <br />Services agency and the Board. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to establish <br />a five-member Cass County Social Service Board with two <br />advisory members; and that James Kappel and Julie Sornsin <br />be appointed as advisory members to the Cass County Social <br />Service Board from 12/91 to 12/93.
