Minutes--July 15, 1991 710 <br /> <br />SOCIAL SERVICES, Ratify Social Service Board actions of July 1, 1991 <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Cass County <br /> Social Services be authorized to develop a position <br /> description, seek classification and recruit for a new <br /> position in the Economic Assistance unit, to implement the <br /> new federal day care program. This position will be funded <br /> 100% with federal dollars and is contingent on continued <br /> federal funding. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that position <br /> 09-00-6323 (Children's Center position) be discontinued <br /> effective August 31, 1991. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously· <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Cass County <br /> Social Services be authorized to establish and recruit for <br /> a new regional shelter care position. This position is <br /> approved contingent on 1005 state and federal dollars. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Bid letting for County Road 22 bridge replacement <br />east of Harwood <br />Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, said five bids were <br />opened at the bid letting held at 10:00 AM today. The bids ranged <br />from $108,357.54 to $132,722.00. The County Engineer's estimate for <br />the project was $111,271.92. Mr. Grindberg recommended the Commission <br />accept the low bid of Wanzek Construction, which was 2.6% below the <br />engineer's estimate. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to accept the low <br /> bid of $108,357.54 by Wanzek Construction for bridge <br /> replacement on County Road 22, one mile east of Harwood, <br /> North Dakota. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />GETHSEMANE PROPERTY GRAVE RELOCATION <br />States Attorney John Goff said part of the purchase of Gethsemane <br />Cathedral property included Gethsemane's obligation to move or <br />relocate a grave site on the property. They have taken the steps to <br />obtain a permit from the North Dakota State Department of Health. Mr. <br />Goff said according to North Dakota statutes, the disinterment and <br />reinterment must be done in the name of Cass County. A Public Notice <br />submitted by the States Attorney will be published in the newspaper <br />for six consecutive weeks after which the human remains may be <br />removed. Gethsemane will move the remains to a site on their new <br />property located at 25th Street South in Fargo. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Shannon moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to disinter and <br /> remove all human remains from Gethsemane property located <br /> at Ninth Street and Second Avenue South in the City of <br /> Fargo, commonly known as the Gethsemane Cathedral property; <br /> and the Board of County Commissioners acting as the <br /> Cemetery Authority shall declare its intention and purpose <br /> to disinter and remove the remains and to reinter the <br /> remains at another location. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
