Minutes--June 17, 1991 6!)5 <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir suggested that the county finance committee consist <br />of the County Auditor, County Treasurer, Chairman of the Commission, <br />Portfolio Commissioner for the Auditor's Office and County <br />Coordinator. Since Mr. Shannon is Chairman of the Commission and the <br />Portfolio Commissioner for the Auditor's Office, Mr. Montplaisir <br />recommended that Commissioner Risher also be appointed to the <br />committee for the remainder of this year. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to create a <br /> finance committee consisting of the following members: <br /> County Auditor, County Treasurer, Chairman of the <br /> Commission, County Coordinator and Commissioner Steve <br /> Risher for the remainder of this year. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />22. <br /> <br />MAIN AVENUE LIGHTING, States Attorney to draft agreement <br />States Attorney John Golf and Mr. Eckert said the city of West Fargo <br />expressed a willingness to participate with Cass County on a cost- <br />share basis for Main Avenue lighting west of West Fargo. Mr. Eckert <br />recommended that the Auditor pay the voucher to Cass County Electric <br />that was withheld from the June bills. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the States <br /> Attorney draft an agreement between Cass County and the <br /> City of West Fargo to divide the cost 50-50 for the West <br /> Main Avenue street lighting, consisting of 14 lights, on <br /> the south side of Main Avenue from County Drain #21 to the <br /> Interstate 94 interchange, with each entity being billed <br /> separately by Cass County Electric Cooperative. On roll <br /> call vote, motion carried unanimously. Mr. Shannon asked <br /> that copies of the contract be given to Commissioners <br /> Wieland and Risher to look into this on a personal level. <br /> <br />23. <br /> <br />PARKING PRIVILEGES, Temporary parking for medical reasons <br />From time to time, County employees may have medical reasons for <br />requesting a temporary parking spot in the lots adjacent to the <br />Courthouse. For these people, it may be appropriate to provide a <br />special parking permit which might be placed on the dash of the <br />vehicle to show that status. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to provide a <br /> special parking permit on a short-term basis for county <br /> employees in case of a medical situation by contacting the <br /> Sheriff and the Sheriff Department portfolio commissioner, <br /> who will authorize parking in the public area near the <br /> Courthouse. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />24. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS, Central Purchasing, Commission office space, <br />Redistricting <br />Mr. Risher reported that $2,627.74 has been saved through May 31, 1991 <br />from central purchasing. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir said furnishings for commissioners are in place in the <br />former Tax Director's Office, and telephones are being installed. <br /> <br /> <br />
