Minutes--December 4, 1990 572 <br /> <br />CONTRACT FOR COURTHOUSE/JUVENILE CENTER CLEANING, Bids awarded <br />On behalf of the committee appointed to review bids for cleaning the <br />Courthouse and Juvenile Justice Center, Extension Agent Brad Cogdil <br />recommended awarding bids to Professional Building Services for <br />Courthouse cleaning and to J.P. Cleaning Service for the Juvenile <br />Justice Center. Committee members in addition to Mr. Cogdil were Mike <br />Montolaisir, Carol Harrington, Mary Denis, Commissioners Toussaint and <br />Sondrall. The committee recommendation is based on experience of the <br />companies that submitted proposals and respective reference checks, <br />Mr. Cogdil said. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to accept <br /> the committee recommendation and award a contract to <br /> Professional Building Services for cleaning the Courthouse <br /> and to J.P. Cleaning Services for cleaning the Juvenile <br /> Justice Center, and refer to the States Attorney to prepare <br /> contracts. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PLAT OF US WEST NEWVECTOR GROUP, INC., ~pproval granted <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to approve the <br /> final plat of US West Newvector Group, Inc. Subdivision, <br /> and allow the Chairman to sign the final plat. Chairman <br /> Shannon called for comments from the public since this is <br /> considered a public hearing on the plat. Hearing none and <br /> at the call for the question and on roll call vote, the <br /> motion carried unanimously <br /> <br />VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE, Benefit report <br />Veterans Service Officer John Meyer said about $7 million dollars came <br />into Cass County for fiscal year 1989 in veterans benefits, and 2,142 <br />0eople were assisted through his office so far this year. Mr. Shannon <br />asked if Mr. Meyer has any further information on the future of the <br />Veterans Administration Hospital located in Fargo. Mr. Meyer said he <br />doesn't think it will close but there may be further erosion of some <br />of the benefits to veterans. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Approved <br />Mr. Eckert reviewed bills this month. He questioned a oayment to the <br />ND Newspaper Association for "Danger Signals," which is an Extension <br />Service publication. It will be billed to that office rather than to <br />the Auditor's Office. He also questioned the amount of payment to an <br />architect for Courthouse entrance doors. This will be corrected to <br />reflect that the payment is made to the contractor rather than the <br />architect, according to Accountant Mike Montplaisir. Mr. Eckert said <br />a bill to Hall GMC in the amount of $2,606.58 is for a new engine in <br />a Sheriff Department vehicle. Mr. Montplaisir will check on a bill <br />from Nardini Fire Equipment. Mr. Shannon said a large amount of <br />office supplies are purchased from different vendors, and he asked <br />Mr. Montplaisir to initiate meetings with County and City of Fargo <br />officials to examine the possibility of combining the purchase of <br />goods and services. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Vouchers <br /> No. 19,927 through No. 21,195 be approved and ordered paid. <br /> On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
