Minutes--November E0~ 1990 565 <br /> <br />SOUTHSIDE SEWER PROJECT, Payment to Moore Engineering MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to pay <br /> $2,602.66 remaining in the grant account toward the billing <br /> from Moore Engineering on the facilities plan for the <br /> southside sewer project, and refer the remaining balance of <br /> the bill to the current sponsor, Southeast Water Resource <br /> District. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDED <br />The Chairman requested permission to amend the agenda by removing the <br />item on redeeming tax-forfeited property and by adding a request to <br />change ad litem for guardianship from the Child Support Enforcement <br />Office to the Social Services Department, where the statutes place it. <br />Mrs. Toussaint asked to include an item on the agenda regarding the <br />County Superintendent of Schools. There were no objections to the <br />agenda being amended in this manner. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, Bruce Hoefs to begin employment 11/~6~. <br />Joyce (Holm) Junge introduced newly elected Superintendent of Schools <br />Bruce Hoers. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to accept the <br /> verbal resignation of Joyce (Holm) Junge from the position <br /> of County Superintendent of Schools effective at midnight <br /> November 25, 1990; and accept Bruce Hoefs on the payroll at <br /> that time, as agreed. On roil call. vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. The States Attorney said Mr. Hoefs should <br /> contact Geoff Riches, Personnel Director. <br /> <br />1¸1. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT WITH AUDITOR, Continuation of employment <br />Mrs. ToussaJnt said County Auditor Ordelle Brua is requesting <br />consideration for continuation of her employment with Cass County <br />through May 31, 1991. If agreed upon, Mrs. Brua will step down on <br />January 1, 1991 to allow for a smooth transition between her and <br />Auditor-elect Mike Montplaisir and she will continue employment with <br />the County as an Assistant County Auditor for the next 5 months at a <br />gross monthly salary of $2,025.75, less the standard payroll and other <br />deductions common to County employees. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to authorize <br /> the Chairman to sign the agreement with the Auditor, as <br /> drafted by States Attorney Robert Hoy. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />SHERIFF RESIDENCE, Estimates on preparation for work release program <br />Estimated cost of updating the former sheriff residence to make it <br />useable as a work release facility is $22,800, not including staff, <br />according to Sheriff Don Rudnick. <br /> <br />Chairman Shannon said to refer the information from the Sheriff to the <br />judicial panel that is looking at overall sentencing of prisoners. <br />Scott Kildahl, Cass County Model Project Coordinator, said he sent out <br />an invitation to county and district judges to be a part of this <br />panel. The number of panel members hasn't been finalized, but he <br />plans to limit the panel to 6 or 8 members. He will notify the <br />Commission when the panel has been selected. <br /> <br /> <br />
