Minutes--November 6, 1990 560 MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to allow the application for North Ridge Subdivision to proceed to final plat stage with inclusion of the Chairman's comments; and that the final plat be approved and the Chairman allowed to sign it. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. 19. E-911 UPDATE, Concern about dispatch service Lorna Suda, Coordinator for Valley EMS Council, was present along with Pat Murray from F-M Ambulance Service to talk about concerns of emergency medical service providers and response by emergency medical service personnel in this region. She provided copies of a mission statement, goals and objectives of the Valley EMS Council. Ms. Suda recommended that Cass County seriously consider the joint dispatch center and provide for adequate training of personnel. She said she and Mr. Murray would make themselves available to the commission at any time or to the committee that is working on this. 20. VOUCHERS, Approved with two exceptions Commissioner Toussaint reviewed bills this month. She questioned a bill for $7,989.12 from Roadway Services, Inc. for crack sealing, and she asked why the engineer doesn't have a county vehicle rather than driving his own vehicle about 3,000 miles this month. Mr. Wieland doesn't think there is a county vehicle for the engineer to drive in the current inventory, but he will discuss the two bills when he meets with the engineer Thursday on another matter. Mrs. Toussaint said the Vector Control District is paying rent to store vehicles at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, and Mr. Eckert said it's in their budget. Mr. Eckert asked the accountant to withhold one check to Schipper Construction Company to be sure there was some progress on their road construction project. It appears there is still enough money being withheld to cover the completion of the contract. MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve Vouchers No. 19050 through 19936, except for No. 19771 to Don Richards and No. 19774 to Roadway Services, Inc. until further review by Commissioners Wieland and Eckert. The Chairman asked them to contact the auditor immediately about releasing those checks when they are ready. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. 21. SHERIFF TRAFFIC SAFETY CONTRACT FY 1991, Contract approved subject to language amendment by States Attorney Lt. Rich Majerus said this contract was considered as a trial period the first year Cass County was engaged in it, and the County received 100% reimbursement. He said the contract is renewed annually, but reimbursement is based on a three-year program. MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to authorize the signing of the Traffic Safety Contract for 1991 subject to language amendment by the States Attorney that it can be a three year program. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
