On <br />roll call vote, motion carried with all members present <br />voting "Aye" <br /> <br />HEARING, CDBG funds for'F-M Door and Millwork <br />Carl Altenbernd, Lake Agassiz Regional Council, said a public hearing <br />was advertised for this time and date for County sponsorship of <br />community development loan funds. He introduced Allan Knok'leberg, <br />owner of F-M Door and Millwork. Mr. Knokleberg said he furnishes <br />material to residential building contractors and his only competitors <br />are in Minnesota. He said no one else in Cass County is doing the <br />residential custom assembly that he is doing. <br /> <br />According to Mr. Shannon's calculation, there are over 30 companies <br />listed in the telephone book in the door and mill work business. <br />Mrs. Toussaint said the advertisement for public hearing published in <br />the local newspaper by the Lake Agassiz Regional Council is vague and <br />not specific enough to inform possible competitors. <br /> <br />Mr. A'ltenbernd said the Office of Intergovernmental Assistance is <br />also concerned about the competitive process, and he said all <br />competitive businesses have to be identified when the business plan <br />is presented to them. NOTZON, passed <br /> Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Cass <br /> County Commission authorize submittal of an application for <br /> Community Development Revolving Loan Funds on behalf of F- <br /> M Door & Millwork. On roll call vote, motion carried with <br /> all members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTHENT, Bid for truck awarded to Midwest Mack, Inc. <br /> NOT~ON, passed / <br /> Upon the recommendation of County Engineer Don Richards, <br /> Hr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to accept the <br /> bid of Hidwest Hack, Inc. of Fargo in the amount of $54,834 <br /> as submitted at the letting held for that purpose June 5 at <br /> 10:00 a.m. at the Cass County Courthouse. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried with all members present voting "Aye" <br /> <br />PLANNING DEPARTMENT, Employment of intern extended <br />Duane Boehning, County Planning Commission Chairman, said 35 <br />townships are receiving assistance in preparing comprehensive plans <br />and updating zoning ordinances. The Planning Department thought 20 <br />townships would apply for assistance, so they are now requesting that <br />the intern's employment be extended an additional 240 hours, at a <br />cost of $1,440, to complete draft plans. He requested that money be <br />paid from the fee collected from townships for preparing their plans. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to allow <br /> transfer of funds from County General to replenish <br /> internship funds for specific uses outlined by the Planning <br /> Department.
