On roil ca]] vote, the motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COHHITTEE REPORTS <br />POLICY ON CULVERTS <br />Mr, Sondrall questioned the location of a culvert being installed on <br />County Road 15 near Kindred, and asked if County policy has changed <br />on where culverts can be located, Mr, Eckert suggested contacting <br />the Engineer about this particular case, Mr, Wieland said culverts <br />have recently been installed on County Road 17, and he intends to <br />look into it. He said the water resource districts should be <br />consulted on placement of culverts, and Hr. Shannon asked him to work <br />with the secretary to find the policy of record and provide a copy to <br />the water resource districts. <br />B~$OLUTIONS FOR STATE COMMIS~_IONEBS CONVENTION <br />Mr. Wieland previously requested proposed resolutions from County <br />departments for consideration at the North Dakota Commissioners and <br />Association of Counties annual meeting this fall. He said tt~e <br />Resolutions Committee is meeting May 21 in Bismarck, and he needs <br />proposals from County departments by that time. Mr. Shannon said he <br />already provided Mr. Wieland with some information for consideratiol~. <br />COURTHOUSE SECURITY <br />Mr. Eckert met with department heads and asked them to report any <br />concerns to him about security in their'offices. Mr. Shannon said he <br />received a letter from Peter Xenides, Professional Building Services, <br />regarding the computer door locks not working properly. Ite asked <br />Mr. Eckert to continue working on security concerns. <br />pARK BOARD RECEIVES A~ABD/FUNDS FROM S~TE GAME & FI~ <br />Hr. Eckert reported that the County Park Board received a third place <br />award in the Land and Water Conservation 25th Ann'iversary celebration <br />for improvements to the Brewer Lake area near Erie. Also, the Parl< <br />Board is receiving 75% matct~ing funds from the State Game a~d Fisl~ <br />Department for two additional boat docks and rest room facilities. <br />COUBI~OUSE DOME PAINTING <br />Hr. Sondrall said the outside dome of the Courthouse will be painted <br />in the next few days at a cost of about $1,900. <br />COURTHOUSE UNDERGROUND SPRINKL~ <br />Mr. Shannon said a suggestion was made at the joint Cass/Fargo <br />meeting in April that the County be allowed to put a meter oil a fire <br />hydrant near the lOth Street boulevard to water new grass beL~¢ee~ <br />and 3rd Avenues South. Apparently the City of Fargo wot~ld ~ob d(} <br />this, so Hr. Shannon has asked the Haintenance Department t~, <br />bids for an underground sprinkler system. <br />STATE PRISON WARD~, M~Z[H~._~[~tJ CHAIRHAN <br />Hr. Shannon invited Tom Power's, State Prison Warden, ~o meet. ~itt~ <br />Thursday, Hay 17, to discuss Hr. Power's suggestion for a s,~t~l lite <br />penitentiary in the eastern part of the state. Hr'.
