Hinutes--Hay 15, 1990 467 <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE BLOCK, !OTH STREET TRAFFIG <br />Mr. Wieland noticed the difficulty and danger of walking across Tenth <br />Street in the area of the Courthouse at 8:00 a.m. weekdays. <br />Hr, Shannon suggested that he write a 'letter to the State Highway <br />Department asking them to reconsider a traffic control device in this <br />area, and to review the history of Cass County's requests in previous <br />years for a traffic light. He also suggested contacting Rick Lane <br />from the Metropolitan Council of Governments. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, ~ce_~_~ and filed NOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive <br /> and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as <br /> follows: letter from the Cass County Historical Society <br /> informing the Commission that Charles Bailly and Hike <br /> Gustafson were added to the "blue ribbon panel"; letter <br /> from the City of Moorhead inviting Commissioners to a <br /> meeting between Moorhead and Clay County representatives <br /> and Governor Rudy Perpich regarding water concerns today <br /> in Moorhead City Hall; public meeting notice from the <br /> Metropolitan Council of Governments concerning <br /> N.P. Avenue/lst Avenue North Corridor Study in the Fargo <br /> City Commission Room on May 16; presentation of NDSU <br /> student design projects for the Red River to be held May 23 <br /> at 7:00 p.mI in the Fargo Public Library; memo from the <br /> County Planner on road improvement south of 45th Street <br /> Interchange; letter from Sonja Kosler regarding <br /> distribution of pothole funds and the 10 mill levy; letter <br /> from The United Presbyterian Churches of Casselton and <br /> Mapleton requesting an automatic pedestrian gate at the <br /> railroad crossing on Meridian Road in Mapleton; two copies <br /> of letters from Lake Agassiz Regional Council to the Office <br /> of Intergovernmental Assistance regarding CDBG program <br /> funds for Town & Country Roll-off Service, Tri Line <br /> Transportation, and the Embden sewer project; letter from <br /> Darrel Graf in regard to organizing and training a group of <br /> local fire fighters; note from the secretary about a <br /> telephone call received May 9th from a Cass County citizen, <br /> Kathy Peterson, suggesting that restaurants and liquor <br /> establishments should pay the bill for people needing <br /> detoxification. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br /> unanimously. The Chairman referred the letter from Darrel <br /> Graf to Commissioner Toussaint, Accountant Mike Montplaisir <br /> and Glenn Ellingsberg, Emergency Manager. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br />On motion by Mrs. Toussaint and seconded by Hr.
